Beginning in 1975, Mark acquired his carpentry certificate before going on to study urban planning at UBC and graduating from the BCIT construction management program. Following this industry-relevant education, Mark would gain crucial experience working for one of Vancouver's top commercial construction companies.

In 1989, Mark made the decision to move to Victoria, where he would raise his family and continue his career in construction by working for a local commercial construction firm that specialized in tenant improvements, dental offices, and Government projects.

Mark would ultimately incorporate Brittain Construction in 1993,  bringing his years of professional experience and education to his new Victoria-based company as a general contractor and project manager. Continuing and expanding on his tried and tested expertise, Brittain  Construction now specializes in commercial construction, dental offices, and building upgrades.

Today, Brittain has a reputation for quality construction, meeting schedules, and positive relationships with project stakeholders, including clients, engineers, and architects.

In 2013, Mark's son, Drew, joined the company, bringing strong supervision and management skills as a graduate of University of Victoria's School of Business.
